Tasting Notes
New paths are being explored with this cuvée. The hand of Marie, Michel's daughter, can be found in this wine. Marie recently won prizes as a young, talented female winemaker in Champagne.
This cuvée clearly shows the power of the terroir in Festigny, together with the characteristic Meunier tones with low dosage. It is a style that many winemakers from the region pursue, and this only works if you keep the yields low. The result: a fresh, dry-mineral wine with a powerful bouquet and mouthfeel. Citrus and white flowers, with a thin layer of honey. The low dosage really brings out the purity of the fruit. Modern style for sure. With future potential!
About the Wine Maker
The Loriot family, 12th generation wine makers since 1675, reside in Festigny on the Côte Meunier, an area southwest of Reims where the Pinot Meunier grape flourishes. Michel Loriot decided from a young age to be a musician, an ambition not exactly supported by his father and grandfather. Music was deemed a hobby, but his vocation was going to be that of wine maker. Luckily for us, he found a way to combine the best of both worlds, by making music an integral part of his vineyards and vinification process.
