Tasting Notes
Made from 80 year old vines. Due to the high quality grapes and low yields, this champagne is full of character; rich in minerality, powerful and dry.
Michel Loriot: "Monodie means singing with one voice. Our Monodie is a single vintage cuvee from the year 2010, from a single cru in Festigny and made from 100% Meunier. These Meuniers come from old vines planted by my grandfather Germain in 1942. This lively and gastronomical Champagne benefits from classical music in our cellars, and is extraordinarily rich in taste."
About the Wine Maker
The Loriot family, 12th generation wine makers since 1675, reside in Festigny on the Côte Meunier, an area southwest of Reims where the Pinot Meunier grape flourishes. Michel Loriot decided from a young age to be a musician, an ambition not exactly supported by his father and grandfather. Music was deemed a hobby, but his vocation was going to be that of wine maker. Luckily for us, he found a way to combine the best of both worlds, by making music an integral part of his vineyards and vinification process.
