Tasting Notes
Champagne Apollonis by Michel Loriot has released a Coteaux Champenois for the first time. This is a white Coteaux Champenois from 100% Meunier.
It is made with a mix of 50% of the 2017 harvest and 50% of the domain's perpetual reserve ('réserve perpétuelle').
This Coteaux Champenois is a rarity as the production is only 380 bottles. These wines, like the other cuvées of Champagne Apollonis, are aged with music in the cellars.
About the Wine Maker
The Loriot family, 12th generation wine makers since 1675, reside in Festigny on the Côte Meunier, an area southwest of Reims where the Pinot Meunier grape flourishes. Michel Loriot decided from a young age to be a musician, an ambition not exactly supported by his father and grandfather. Music was deemed a hobby, but his vocation was going to be that of wine maker. Luckily for us, he found a way to combine the best of both worlds, by making music an integral part of his vineyards and vinification process.
