About the Wine Maker

This is the first wine from brothers Andrea (1997) and Stefano Mascarello (1987). Maffrei stands for the dream and the project born of passion and history. In 2021 they bought an old domain with associated vineyards on the highest hill in La Morra. In the upcoming years they will release several other cuvées including Barolo.

The grapes come from a vineyard in Torriglione, a small village in La Morra. The terroir consists of clay, silt and sand and the vines are 30 years old on average. 10% of the bunches are completely fermented, maturing in stainless steel tanks.
