Tasting Notes
His wines are characterized by great elegance and finesse, with attractive aromas and flavors of ripe red fruits. His Morey Saint Denis (4900 bottles per year) and Chambolle Musigny (2750 bottles) wines are among the biggest surprises of recent years, and resist any comparison with their brothers of the famous manufacturers. The additional advantage: they have a very friendly price tag. This winemaker is one to watch!
About the Wine Maker
Domaine Rémi Jeanniard is located in Morey-Saint-Denis, in the heart of the Côtes de Nuits; it comprises roughly 18 acres of vineyard in three different communes, Morey-Saint-Denis, Gevrey-Chambertin, and Chambolle-Musigny. Rémi is the oldest of eight children; after having worked for his father for twenty years, he struck out on his own in 2004 and created his own domaine from half of the original family estate with the help of his wife.
