Tasting Notes
Located in the municipality of Preignac, l’Ilot de Haut Bergeron is the only plot in the Sauternes that can boast this unique location on an island. This island in the middle of Ciron river, which is so dear to Sauternes, enjoys an exceptional microclimate. It is a cradle surrounded by wood where moisture strongly enhances the development of this fungus Botrytis cinerea. Due to its location, it offers quite unusual terroir wines of great freshness with finesse and elegance. Enjoyed young, they will reveal great aromas: citrus, litchi, vanilla or acacia flower.
About the Wine Maker
With a heritage of over 200 years, and nine generations, Château Haut-Bergeron is the story of one of the oldest families in Sauternes. Haut-Bergeron is characterised by gourmet, rich and balanced wines. In recent years, dry white and red wines have been added to the collection.
Despite its historic side, the château regularly updates the production methods to improve quality and tackle new challenges, such as the protection of the environment.
