Tasting Notes
Grenache and Cinsault are the classic southern grapes destines for rosé wines. Licht pink in color with framboises and sweet red berry flavours.
The Grenache vines for this wine are located on clay and calcarous hillsides and the Cinsault from sandy plains, in the Herauld and Gard area, in de Languedoc in the south of France. The harvest is done at night to prevent the grapes from oxidation and preserve optimum freshness. The grapes are then directly pressed without maceration, and the wine is cooled down and left on fine lees. Then the wines are aged in stainless steel vats, again preserving its freshness.
About the Wine Maker
Basement Finds! Some winemakers have hidden corners in the cellar containing wines that are unlikely to have been kept for that long. But under these ideal conditions apparently 'simple' wines can also last 30+ years. Don't expect ultimate complexity, but a fair glass of Burgundy with a nice age for a bargain price instead.
