Tasting Notes
The Lamothe family, known for producing top notch Sauternes, owns a few vineyards with white grape varieties (Sémillion, Muscadelle and Sauvignon Blanc) and with vines over fifty years old. This wine is raised in vats and then in wooden barrels for about 6 months. The result: a beautiful dry wine with flavors of citrus and exotic fruits, and a lovely fresh minerality because of the clay soil. The after taste is long – so long that you feel you still have the wine in your mouth long after you have swallowed it.
About the Wine Maker
With a heritage of over 200 years, and nine generations, Château Haut-Bergeron is the story of one of the oldest families in Sauternes. Haut-Bergeron is characterised by gourmet, rich and balanced wines. In recent years, dry white and red wines have been added to the collection.
Despite its historic side, the château regularly updates the production methods to improve quality and tackle new challenges, such as the protection of the environment.
