Tasting Notes
The Meursault la Goutte D’Or’s robe is a rich golden colour (hence the name ‘Golden Droplets’). Its characteristics are a mixture of roasted nuts such as bitter almonds and a hint of vanilla. Very lengthy finish – a fabulous example of the best of Meursault.
About the Wine Maker
One of Burgundy's best kept secrets is this domain, which has been run by Claudine Gaunoux since the late 1990s. Throughout the year, she works meticulously in the vineyards to prune and tackle potential plant and grape problems at the source. As a result, Claudine harvests only the best grapes, which are then vinified and matured in stainless steel tanks. 'Wood is make-up for bad wines' is her adage. The fact is that her wines - with pure fruit flavors and minerality - are different from others. And as the connoisseurs know, Gaunoux's wines can be stored for a brilliantly long time!
