Domaine Montesquiou Jurançon Sec Cuvade Préciouse 2018
|Availability:||In stock (84)|
This wine from Jurançon is grown in the harsh climate of the Pyrenees, with influences of the southern heat, the Pyrenean rigor and Atlantic challenges. The terroir is composed of clayey and silty soil with an important quantity of aluminium. This rough area produces great and pure white wines with expressive fruit, balanced acidity and lots of minerality.
Harvest of the 3 grape varieties occurs on the same day and pressed together to obtain a synergy during the fermentation at low temperature and then aged in old wooden vats on natural fine lees to give the wine structure and elegance.
Grape variety : Gros Manseng, Petit Manseng, Courbu and Camarelet from old vines.
The nose expresses the finesse of the aromatic palette, mixing according to the vintages the white flowers, lime blossom, eucalyptus, or exotic fruits and citrus fruits. The palate, with a harmonious structure, expresses a silky, deep and persistent where the aromas are expressed with intensity, carried by the minerality of the wine
This fruity and very fresh wine will accompany the light meals of the beautiful days such as seafood, grilled fish, warm goat cheese salad, vegetable tart. Or even with aged cheeses such as Comté or Gruyere.
About the wine maker
This is a small, family-run estate, with just 6.5 hectares under vine, and has been handed down from father to son since the 18th century. The current winemakers are brothers Sébastien and Fabrice Bordenave-Montesquieu. Although not certified as such, Sébastien and Fabrice employ many of the principles of biodynamic viticulture. Detailed attention is paid to the working of the ground and the influence of the moon.
Like the nature of the Pyrenees, the cultures of the peoples living there for centuries, and the rugged climate, the Montesquiou family has embraced the elements to reveal the quintessence of this unique terroir.
