About the Wine Maker
Aged just 20 years old Damien Coquelet bottled his first vintage in 2007. Not entirely surprising when you then hear he is the step-son of Beaujolais legend Georges Descombes.
Taking advice from and being mentored by Descombes, Damien has followed the same path - organic viticulture, hand harvesting, native yeasts and zero intervention in the cellar with little to no sulphur added at bottling. Cossard and Descombes also follow these same principles of winemaking.
