Tasting Notes
The Champagne Extra Brut "Inspiration de Saison" by Apollonis / Michel Loriot, as the name suggests, was born from a happy creative inspiration. Made entirely from grapes from the 2010 harvest, with a low dosage (Extra Brut). The wine is rich, with beautiful aromas and great finesse, it gives a generous, lively sensation on the palette. Absolutely not to be missed.
This wine received the bronzen medaille at the Decanter World Wine Awards 2017: "Citrus, red berry and floral nose. Saline, fresh, if slightly cidery, the wine nonetheless a very nice elegance and grip throughout with a fairly long finish".
About the Wine Maker
The Loriot family, 12th generation wine makers since 1675, reside in Festigny on the Côte Meunier, an area southwest of Reims where the Pinot Meunier grape flourishes. Michel Loriot decided from a young age to be a musician, an ambition not exactly supported by his father and grandfather. Music was deemed a hobby, but his vocation was going to be that of wine maker. Luckily for us, he found a way to combine the best of both worlds, by making music an integral part of his vineyards and vinification process.
