Tasting Notes
An open nose of alluring black cherries, cream and flower petals gives way to a finely structured palate. The style is rich and deep, with succulent fruit nicely balanced by complex secondary aromas and flavours and an earthiness characteristic of this village. One of the best Gevrey Chambertin village level wines available, and as such this is great value.
The 2014 harvest started on September 22nd and was completed by the end of the month. The health and ripeness of the fruit enabled the Rossignols to use up to 50% of whole bunches, giving an extra dimension to many of the wines.

About the Wine Maker
Quality has soared since brothers Nicolas and David Rossignol converted the domaine to biodynamic viticulture in 2004. The wines now display significantly more depth and concentration than when they took over from their father in the 1990s and are amongst the very best of the Côte de Nuits. Their non-interventionist approach is reaping rewards, as low yields in the vineyard and a light touch in the winery allow the natural character of this prime terroir to show through.
The Rossignols are large land-owners in Gevrey enabling them to retain the fruit only from their oldest vines, the rest being sold anonymously. The result is a wine close to premier cru quality, fermented with 30% whole bunches and aged in 10% new oak.
