Philippe Brand Pinot Blanc/Chardonnay Apollinaire 2017

Availability: In stock (34)

50% Pinot Blanc, 50% Chardonnay

Apollinaire is a blend of Pinot Blanc and Chardonnay. It's been aged for 12 months in wooden casks, which gives it a full-bodied mouthfeel. It smells slightly woody with floral, kiwi notes and on the palate, you'll feel this velvet-like sensation with crisp pear drops and apricots. This is an elegant wine. It works well for anyone who wants to get into their natural wine discoveries, but it also caters for the hardcore natural wine lovers.

It is a meal wine and pairs beautifully with fish, seafood or a kohlrabi salad.

About the winemaker

Domaine Brand was founded by Lucien Brand in 1956. At that time, the farm grew several crops. There were over 15 hectares of wheat, tobacco and pastures for livestock, with just 53 ares of vines. It gradually began to specialize in viticulture, allowing the vineyard to expand over the other areas until 1970.

Later Charles Brand sealed the estate’s reputation by vinifying the premium dry wines popular with locals. In 2001, he revolutionized the production methods, launching a three-year conversion period and having his vineyard certified organic.

Philippe partnered his father in 2006, injecting a new impetus into their company, which they renamed Domaine Brand & Fils. In 2015, a new direction was taken: as Philippe wanted to go further in their journey, he obtained Biodynamic Agriculture certification from the organization Demeter. He also took the opportunity to extend the range of Natural Wines.
