The Perfect Burgundy
Hervé Kerlann, originally from a Bordeaux family, moved to Bourgogne to learn about wine business. He became big in the trade, mainly exporting the great wines of top producers to Asia. Because of his contacts with the great wine makers, he managed to get a few tips from everybody he worked with. He put those tips to work in producing his own wine to make the perfect Bourgogne.
Beautiful Fruit and Minerality
The Gevrey Chambertin Vieille Vignes 2011, made from grapes of old vines, displays lots of character and structure. It is clearly a notch up from his Bourgogne Pinot Noir (which is one of our favorite reds!). The wine looks light as you can see through your glass. But don’t be fooled, when you taste it you get an explosion of flavors in your mouth: freshness from strawberry and cassis fruits, combined with a nice acidity and minerality, and a long pleasant finish. This 2017 can be enjoyed now but can be kept for a long time before it matures.
