This plot of 4 ha 50 ca was bought and completely restructured in 1993. Located in the town of Pujols sur Ciron, this enclosure offers a beautiful terroir with sandy-gravelly soils and limestone subsoils.
Only the best lots of Clos des Pins plots are included in the final assembly. Thanks to a very rigorous selection during manual harvesting, as well as advanced vinification, ageing in barrels of 1 year for 12 months, the result is a pleasurable wine with substance and elegance. The style sought is rather on suppleness and smoothness with pleasant and well-integrated tannins, with above all balance and a beautiful freshness typical of the Graves appellation.
The majority grapes are Cabernet Sauvignon with Merlot
A wine of great elegance, a garnet color and a nice bouquet with notes of cooked fruit. In the mouth, after ageing the wine for a few months, you will find a beautiful blend between red and black fruits and tannins. After that, leather and tobacco tones. Recommended to serve at 17 ° C.
This is a very pleasant and drinkable wine, and it is a perfect match for cold meats, red meat and light cheeses.
About the wine maker
For over 5 generations the Lamothe family has been making wine. Currently the brothers Hervé and Patrick Lamothe run the company. Based in Preignac, in the Sauternes area, they produce among others Haut Bergeron, a very classic Sauternes from vineyards bordering those of Chateau d’Yquem. They also produce white Graves wine.
