New appellation

Bourgogne Cote d'Or is a brand new appellation that distinguishes quality 'tout court' Pinot Noir from the rest. It also offers the option to add the vineyard designation. In this case a very special one: Au Prunier. This vineyard lies in the middle of Gevrey Chambertin but hasn't been classified as village (yet). However the terroir is certainly there and the quality is really good, given the fact that the vines are on average 30 years old. This means we're hitting the value sweet spot!

New Label

Chateau de Laborde is the new label of Hervé Kerlann with whom we work since our very own start. It marks the next level of professionalization and development of the domaine. The production of this wine is fairly small with roughly 4000 bottles produced. It has aged on 50% new oak barrels for 12 months, giving the wine a pleasant roundness and structure, while the fruitiness has been preserved.

Tasting notes

Bright ruby color, with light black currant and strawberry, matched with spices.  A strong structure yet light tannins that support the fruitiness of this wine. It goes well with red meats, duck, stews and light spicy dishes. Ideal drinking temperature is around 15 degrees celcius.
